DA approves 2-Million ISU-I research project

2 million research project of Isabela State University-Ilagan Campus has been approved by the
Department of Agriculture, funding three agricultural projects.

Artificially Recharged Aquifer to improve the quality and quantity of groundwater, Sustainable
rainfed rice ecosystem (SURE) Program; development of sustainable aerobic rice cultivars and
farm implements, and Development of water metering and central system for small-scale irrigation
in Naguilian and Benito Soliven are the research programs funded the agency that helps in the
development and promotion of location-specific technologies on both hybrid and inbred rice that
will increase rice production in the region.

Dr. Junel B. Soriano, project leader, was very pleased when he learned that DA granted the
funding of the research projects and the ISU-I research team is very eager for the conduct of the
research.
